Haas Petroleum Engineering Services, Inc. employs a suite of commercial software packages and hardware capabilities in order to provide state-of-the-art tools for technical analysis and presentation. The primary economic software programs utilized by HPESI are the most common economics utilities to the industry.
PHDWin
and ARIES are used in order to estimate reserves, revenue, expenses, and capital expenditures for the analysis of decline curves, future producing rates, and present value.
HPESI also utilizes:
-
A2D (digital log images)
-
IHS Energy (Nation-wide production & well data)
-
Lasser, Inc. (state-wide production data)
-
DrillingInfo.com (Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Louisiana & Colorado production and mapping data)
-
GeoMap (for up-to-date Barnett, Fayetteville & Woodford Shale play maps)
PETRA®
HPESI has recently acquired PETRA®; a product from geoPLUS Corporation that allows our geologists and reservoir engineers to make quicker decisions regarding the analysis of oil and gas field data. Geological and geophysical maps can be fully integrated with production and engineering data to ensure reliable estimates of reserve potential. PETRA® provides:
- Stream-lined data management, manipulation, visualization and integration of geological, geophysical, petrophysical and engineering data.
- Ability to transform raw well data into an understanding of critical reservoir parameters.
- Quick visualization of results -using the interactive mapping, cross-sections, log plots, cross-plots and custom spreadsheets.
- Compatibility with various utility programs -used to calculate mechanical properties such as predicted pressures and rates.
- In-house assessments of data provided by clients, their operators, and field services.
- Mapping capabilities which have become a means of quality and reliability.
HDS
HPESI also utilizes HDS, a powerful petrophysics program that is based on calculations of well logs and core data. PETRA® and HDS are used in conjunction to provide the most accurate interpretations and visualizations possible for our clients.
HARDWARE
HPESI has recently purchased a forty-two inch color mapping printer capable of printing high resolution maps and logs for use in presentations and in association with PETRA®. Additionally, a 4’x 5’ digitizing table can produce digital copies of hardcopy maps and logs on virtually any scale and is capable of performing volumetrics on a large scale. All data input from the table is readable on both PETRA® and HDS.
These utilities are assets to Haas Petroleum’s engineering and evaluation capabilities and allow us to complete jobs more quickly and supply more cost effective data management for our clients.
